Name: Dinobot
From: Transformers Beast Wars
Appearance:

Age: Somewhere in the few tens of thousand years, around thirty to forty human years in age.
Gender: Identifies as male
Personality: If one word could be used to describe Dinobot, it would be: warrior. The Maximal has spent his life dedicated to fighting, to the warrior way. What is the warrior way? To him it is a personal code he must abide by at all times. He believes fighting must always be honorable, giving the enemy a fair chance at combat, as he did with Optimus Primal when he first challenged the Maximal leader on the new planet.
Despite the good intentions of his warrior code, it hasn’t made him the brightest spot of sunshine. On the contrary he’s quite short and easily annoyed with his comrades. Oftentimes he can get volatile if not enraged, blame a life working with Predacons. Rattrap often gets the full brunt of this, exchanging insults and fisticuffs with each other. But despite this, he will keep company and consider the input of those close to him, much less defend them to the death, which is what he ultimately did when defending the protohumans from Megatron. And don’t let his looks or mannerisms fool you, he can get quite eloquent. Oftentimes his speeches can get positively Shakespearian, going so far as to quote the infamous 'To be or not to be' speech.
There is a part of him who wants what’s right. The problem is for him is figuring out what’s right. He has his warrior code, yes, but it seems as if either Predacon or Maximal ideals do not line up exactly with his standards. He finds either the Predacons too debased and decadent or he finds the Maximals too soft and pacifist. He merely choose the side of the Maximals because they came closest to his code and out of personal obligation. While he realizes he must do what’s right for him, he has a long way to go…

History:Dinobot was fiercely loyal to the Predacon leader Megatron, named after his Decepticon ancestor 300 years after the Great War. He joined Megatron on a mission to go after the planet on an artifact Megatron had stolen. Soon after they crashed on the supposed Earth Dinobot saw they were in fact far from Earth as they could be. He declared the Predacon an incompetent fool and soon challenged him for leadership of the Predacons. Megatron won easily and Dinobot left. Soon he came across the Maximals and issued their leader Optimus Primal the same challenge. During the battle Optimus saved his life and Dinobot reluctantly joined the Maximal side.

From the start Dinobot voiced his distaste for the Maximal way of life, but that did not prevent him from fighting on their side. Though the Maximals themselves harbored their suspicions for their ex-Predacon teammate, he soon proved himself invaluable on their side. Even he and Rattrap formed vitriolic, if not begrudging friendship and respect for each other.

However, he soon learned Megatron was right all along and momentarily betrayed the Maximals by handing Megatron the golden disks. When he returned to the Maximals he felt disgraced by betraying his own honor and briefly considered suicide. But Dinobot found that Megatron could affect the course of history with the golden disks. Megatron’s plan? To destroy the protohumans and forever change the outcome of the Autobot-Decepticon war. Dinobot realized the only way to save his honor involved prevent Megatron’s insane measures. Single-handedly he fought off the Predacons and even Megatron himself, destroying the disks. Yet Dinobot’s actions came at a price--his life. Yet Dinobot died restoring his honor and ultimately saving the human race.

Moral standing: Dinobot’s morality is as complex as the time shenanigans involved with his world. A staunch follower of Predacon life--combat, conquest, and the like, Dinobot has his own objections to some of their ways. Dinobot does not wish an unfair death on his opponent and would rather give them a sporting chance in a fight. And above all else, Dinobot has a code of honor to adhere to, one that overrides his own personal political ties at the moment. While he’s not above killing, using guerrilla tactics, or lying, Dinobot knows he must act in the best interest of his own personal integrity.

Dreams: Dinobot wants to do what is right--not what Maximals or Predacons deem right, but what he KNOWS is right. He just has to figure out what that right exactly entails.

Fears: Dinobot is bound by a code of honor, almost like a samurai. To him breaking or betraying that honor is a fate worse than death and he has considered suicide over his one betrayal.

Extras: Dinobot will be taken from the beginning of season two as his canon point. So to him, Megatron’s still a diabolical Barney, Optimus is frying up in space, and he’s still on the Maximal side.
